Contract: Full-time

About Monday Girl

Monday Girl is the leading platform helping ambitious women build meaningful professional connections through curated networking events, executive coaching, and community-driven programming. We’re active in Toronto, NYC, Chicago, and San Francisco - and scaling quickly.

We’re rethinking what it means to build your network in today’s world: smart, intentional, and designed for how women actually work.

The Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and proactive Business Development & Partnerships Intern to join our team. If you’re passionate about building relationships, organizing events, and creating impactful experiences, this is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a fast-growing brand.

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Monday Girl team to spearhead venue outreach, develop partnerships, and execute unforgettable events. The role requires outreach, pitching, and calls with potential partners as well as commuting and attending in-person programming in Toronto.

What You’ll Do

Venue Prospecting & Outreach

  • Research and cold-call trendy venues and spaces in Toronto, NYC, Chicago, and San Francisco to identify partnership opportunities for co-branded events, programming, and exclusive member discounts.

  • Conduct outreach and pitch to potential partners via email, calls, and meetings.

Partnership Proposals

  • Develop compelling partnership proposals tailored to venue and brand opportunities that align with Monday Girl’s mission.

Event Coordination

  • Assist with event logistics, scheduling, and administrative tasks to ensure seamless execution of conferences and events.

  • Support the operations team in managing on-site details, including setup, troubleshooting, and member experience.

On-Site Support

  • Attend events in Toronto, assisting with on-the-ground coordination and capturing social content for promotions.

Creative Ideation

  • Brainstorm and develop innovative partnership opportunities and activations that enhance the Monday Girl experience.

Who You Are

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.

  • A self-starter who's excited about relationship-building, outreach, and event execution. Someone who isn't afraid to pick up the phone or send a cold email.

  • Organized and resourceful, with the ability to represent the Monday Girl brand to external partners with professionalism and polish.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A creative eye for partnerships that fit our vibe.

  • Flexibility to commute and attend in-person events in Toronto.

  • Resourceful, proactive and detail-oriented, thriving in a fast-paced, early-stage environment.

What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience in event planning, partnership development, and marketing.

  • Opportunities to network with industry professionals and leading brands.

  • Mentorship from the Monday Girl team to help develop your career.

  • A chance to make a real impact on a community-driven brand’s growth.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recent grad from a marketing/communications/business or related program

  • Able to work 40 hours/week during business hours in ET time zones

  • Authorized to work in Canada/US and available for hybrid/remote work

  • While much of the role can be completed remotely, you’ll be required to commute for in-person programming and meetings in Toronto.

Application Exercise

This short exercise should take no more than 30–60 minutes. Please complete and submit as a single PDF or Google Doc.

1. Venue Research:

  • Research one trendy venue in Toronto or NYC that aligns with Monday Girl’s mission of creating professional, engaging networking events. Provide the following details:

    • Venue name and location.

    • Why you think this venue would be a good fit (2–3 sentences).

    • Contact information (if available).

2. Draft a Mini Proposal:

Write a short email (150–200 words) pitching a potential partnership with this venue for a co-branded networking event. Highlight the value Monday Girl could bring to the collaboration.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for your ability to spot a venue that truly fits Monday Girl's vibe (professional, polished, and social) and to explain that fit with real specifics, not just a name and address. We want to see how you write when you're representing our brand: does your pitch email sound confident, warm, and clearly communicate the value Monday Girl brings to a partner, not just what we're asking for? We're also paying attention to follow-through on the details (word count, required info, formatting) as a signal of how you'll handle real outreach on the job. Ultimately, this is a writing and instincts test for the outreach and pitching you'd be doing day-to-day in this role.

Immediate Rejections:

AI-generated submissions (we can tell). Ideas that could work for any company. "Run Meta ads" with no creative strategy. Plans with no actual execution. Picking "impressions" or "reach" as metrics. Corporate or templated anything.

The best applications aren't from people with the best resumes. They're from people who actually understand what Monday Girl is about, have opinions, can execute, and make us want to hire them immediately.

Submission Instructions

  • Include your exercise as a link to a PDF. Please ensure sharing permissions are open for viewing.

  • Be concise and professional in your responses.

  • Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Important:
Due to the volume of applications we receive, only those who submit the required assignment will be considered. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing your application!
